Duties

  • Lead and perform professional installations of commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, and HVAC. Daily tasks may include running gas, refrigerant, plumbing, or electrical lines under Foreman supervision.
  • Setting and leveling food service equipment, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment.
  • Working with steel hoods and hanging equipment in elevated environment.
  • Effectively solve problems and provide creative solutions.
  • Be mindful of any unusual or costly situations and inform your supervisor when necessary.
  • Comply with set project schedules. Communicate any scheduling concerns to the Field Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
  • Brazing and soldering of lines in relation to refrigeration systems
  • Wiring/electrical connections, final connections for startup of refrigeration systems and food equipment
  • Perform all required tasks with the highest standards of workmanship and time management.
  • Communicate effectively with the Installation Office, Installation Manager, general contractors, and external project managers regarding the status of current projects.
  • Promote a positive work environment and company culture aligned with safety in mind.
  • Work occasional night, weekend and out of town work.
  • Mindset for Leadership and working in a team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or certification in HVAC (preferred).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a qualified and competent tradesperson.
  • OSHA 30 Certification (preferred).
  • EPA Universal Certification (preferred).
  • CFESA Certified Technician (preferred).
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and plumbing systems.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and reference materials.
  • Knowledge of commercial food service and refrigeration equipment repairs, maintenance, and installation.
  • Knowledge of gas equipment operation and installation including ovens, fryers, steamers, etc.
  • Positive attitude and drive to learn.
  • Have or ability to obtain OSHA 30 certification.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to operate Non-CDL Commercial Motor Vehicles, including DOT Physical requirement.
  • All employees are subject to annual background checks, clearances, and certifications. Drug tests are administered before and periodically during employment.
  • General organization of tasks, self-motivated

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in extreme conditions (i.e.: hot, cold, dirty environment, etc.).
  • Must be able to bend, reach, and kneel repeatedly and for lengths of time.  
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods (usually for travel).
  • Must be able to lift, push/pull 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb and work from step ladders and extension ladders at various heights for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in all food service environments.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT Physical.
  • Must be able to drive box truck up to 26’ long.
  • Must be able to work around elevated environments in ceiling and roofs.
